The much awaited 2.8 Strut brace is now here! This also incorporates my very popular bonnet ram kit, and is still cheaper than the alternatives on the market that only include the brace itself!
Everything you need to fit a STRUT BRACE with added bonnet ram kit to your (2.8 POWERED) MK2/MK3 Ford Capri!
Do away with that annoying bonnet stay and create so much more room for activities under the bonnet, whilst adding the benefits of a strut brace at the same time.
The full kit consists of;
- Brand new bonnet rams
- Ball fittings for each end
- Strut top rings with ram brackets and brace tabs
- Centre brace bar and hardware to attach to the rings
- M8 hardware
To fit the rams, you need to drill one hole each side on the bonnet hinge plate, and the rest bolts on in 20 minutes max. Please ensure that the weight is on the front suspension (Wheels on the ground) before loosening the strut top bolts to fit the rings. If you are unsure, please get a professional to fit!
Please note, I also sell the bonnet ram kit without the strut brace, and I can sell the tabs and rams only for you to weld on yourself if you already have a brace!
As this is the first prototype batch, I am selling these at a reduced price. I have test fitted this brace onto a few 2.8 powered Capri's available to me, and it fits around the master cylinder, engine, duraspark box, fuel filter etc and does not hit the bonnet, but obviously I cannot account for every single configuration of aftermarket master cylinder, or fuel filter etc out there. I have made it as close to the bonnet as I can without hitting to account for these differences. Please ensure to close the bonnet very slowly after fitting to confirm that there is no contact with the brace. I will not be held responsible for any damage whilst fitting these to your car.

Please note that there may be a 2-3 week lead time on these, as at times I am waiting on components to make the kit. This is not my day job, I have 4 young children and a full time job on top so I usually get out once a week to sort postage :)
